Joined with the L.A. Mission for an Undergarment Drive
In 2010, Garden Grove sent 6 Kids to participate in the Sleepless LA.
On the night of April 24, our team of two coaches and 5 players arrived at the mission and were given an eye-opening lesson on what our homeless population go through every night. Their guide, Ed santiago, is also the number one fundraiser for the Mission. They were given a tour and a lesson on how to make a cardboard shelter. They all slept on the hard ground in sleeping bags under constant police protection. I hope this will be a life-long lesson for our players and we plan to do it with more participation next year. . The players were Trevor Tillman, Dalante Bell, Daniel Sanchez, Andrew Fuller and Jaydyn Webb. Marc Castro paid but was unable to attend.
